The Wake-Up Shakers:
Young people who awaken what is stuck.
Wake-up callers are children and young people who are temporarily outside the school system.
Not because they don't want to learn, but because the circumstances do not match who they are and what they need.
They show where systems get stuck and which new forms are possible.
We see them as messengers of change – sensitive, creative and full of potential.
With initiatives such as Wakkerschudders days and De Vuurraad we create places where they can land, take root and get moving again.

Root, connect, move on
Wake-up call days
A safe, small-scale setting where children and young people can recover, explore, and regain perspective at their own pace. We combine moments of calm with natural stimuli and experiences that nurture curiosity and zest for life. This allows each child to choose precisely the environment that helps them regulate, play, and learn at that moment.
The project will take place in a natural and adventurous environment, currently as a pilot project on the Wildgroei site in the Utrecht region.
For whom:
-
Primary and secondary school students who (temporarily) attend less or no school at all
-
Parents who are looking for peace and connection for their child
-
Schools & SWVs that want to fulfill their duty of care through an arrangement, interim provision or supplement
Ignite, connect, transform
The Fire Council
“You should never extinguish the fire in your soul, but rather fan it.”
– Vincent van Gogh
The Fire Council is our creative think tank for Wake-Up Callers from both primary and secondary school ages. It's a place where young people use their energy, creativity, and unique perspective to break through deadlocked issues.
We believe in one core principle: everyone carries an inner fire within them: a source of motivation, curiosity, and zest for life. Sometimes that fire is extinguished by pressure, misunderstanding, or deadlocked systems. At De Vuurraad (The Fire Council), we create space to rekindle and harness it.
Fire transforms. It transforms, creates space for the new, and returns energy to everything around it. It reminds us of the power of renewed energy, connection, and movement. That's why we gather around the fire: to feel, think, create, and transform together.
How does it work:
-
We meet once a month at the Wildgroei site
-
Organizations, municipalities and schools submit their questions
-
Young people think, create and design solutions together
-
Together we look for new angles and unexpected breakthroughs
For whom:
-
Primary and secondary school students who want to use their voice, experience and creativity
-
Organizations that seek new perspectives on social issues
-
Companies and municipalities that want to actively involve young people in change
